NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. — In the middle of their lunch break, groups of Algonquin students who will turn 18 by election day took a few minutes to register to vote at a booth set up by Northborough Town Clerk Andy Dowd.

"I usually try to do it every year," Dowd said. "This year's more unique because or all the elections."

At least 50 students did their civic duty and applied to join the voter rolls. Dowd attributes the high level of interest, in part, to this year's widely talked-about presidential race.

He said he plans to return to the school in the fall, before the November general election, to register more students.

Registering to vote is simple, and can be done at the Town Hall. If you will be at least 18 on or before the general election (or whichever election you are planning on voting in), all that is required is your name, address, date of birth and either your license number or last four digits of your Social Security number.
