NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – Northborough Property Management will be conducting a food drive to collect nonperishable food this July. The proceeds go to the Northborough Food Pantry and the Marlborough Community Services, Inc. Emergency Food Pantry.

Only July 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. volunteers from Northborough Property Management will be collecting food from residents of the 24 properties they manage.

“I think it’s going to go well,” Principal and Property Manager, Michael Beyranevand said. “It’ll be about 1,200 different units we’ll be going to that have never been solicited before. We’re hoping for a great success.”

Northborough Property Management wants to make donating easy for the residents of their properties.

“We want to make it as easy as we can,” Beyranevand said. “We’re going to go door to door collecting, so they can just open their door, put out what they want to give and we collect it.”

Beyranevand and the other employees at Northborough Property Management decided to put on the food drive after they spent time volunteering at the Northborough Food Pantry.

“We’ve been volunteering there about 6 months, going once a month to help restock the shelves and organize food,” Beyranevand said. “That’s when we realized, although this is helpful, we can do more.”

The Northborough Food Pantry tries to have a fundraiser every month but July was empty so they suggested it to Northborough Property Management. During the summer months, the food pantry has an increased need.

“It’s also the summer so kids are out of school and they need stuff and people go on vacation and kind of forget to give,” Beyranevand said.

The food drive will be collecting nonperishable items and delivering them to the Northborough Food Pantry who will then distribute food to Marlborough.
